Christmas Commission

About 4 months ago, a good friend asked me to work up an image for him that he could print on t-shirts (what I do at my day job) and give out as Christmas gifts. 3 months and 23 days later I started panicking and frantically working on it. I was able to finish on time, so that all recipients of the shirts could have them by Christmas. Below are the designs that appeared on the front and back of the shirts.

Art-ish UPDATE

Hey everyone!
Quick update about what has been keeping me busy and preventing me from updating!
The local high schools in my town are combining next year and as a way to remember the years they were around, I was tasked with creating designs for shirts to commemorate them. I am a graduate of West HS, but I had just as many friends who went to East HS and it was a really wonderful opportunity for me to be a part of this.
The shirts are officially available, so I wanted to make as many people aware of it as I could. I'm placing some info in this post, but if you are interested in getting any of the shirts you can reach out to me and I will try to help.

Hi everyone! I'm sorry for the radio silence following Inktober, but it's been hectic (as always). Below is a BIG photo update...photos of the Halloween minion costumes and the recent commissions I've done.

More to come very soon!

Inktober Days: Twelve part 1 & 2

Look, look - on time! And two of them! Crazy, I know, but I was desperately trying to work my way out of an art funk last night and I felt Pokemon would be the cure for that.
Little did I realize they are tricky little monsters to draw! It ended up being a fun way to work off my stress, but I will definitely be taking another shot at them very soon.
Catching them all, and whatnot.

Inktober Days: Seven, Eight, Nine

Well... I was keeping up.
I'll tell you it wasn't for a lack of drawing, but simply a lack of scanning and uploading, y'know the easy part...ANYWAYS. A little bit of Halloween witch fun, and a quick sketch I did while trying to catch up on back episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D (no spoilers).

Inktober Days: Six

Here's the new piece - another stab at the "Thumbelina" idea from last time.
I'm not sure what it is about these two pieces; I really like the initial sketch, the inking starts strong but as I work the ink into them more, I feel like they lose a bit of the magic I was going for.

Maybe because I'm attempting more of a scene, instead of just characters? I'm not sure, BUT I will continue, try to push more bounce into the next piece!

Inktober Days: Four

Day 4 - better late than, on the wrong day like most of the others.

Inktober Days: Three

A bit late...I meant to have this up on Saturday but not quite. My bad...
Hopefully the cuteness below will help.
(Inktober Day 4 is for a project I'm working on at the day job and will be up later today)

Inktober Days: Two

As promised - Inktober Day 2 - 10.3.13

Inktober Days: One

From the title you can see I'm participating in "Inktober" as a very small attempt to get more comfortable in my inking abilities. I won't be doing the daily ink, because...let's be realistic. I'd like to actually set an attainable goal.....so I will be doing every other day throughout the month. There isn't a set style or topic, pretty much whatever strikes me and inspires me to actually put brush pen to paper.
I'm trying to work out the scanner situation so that I can be good about posting on every odd day...but we'll see. There may be some days that get two, like today!

Below is Day 1 - 10.1.13 (Day 2 - 10.3.13 will be up later).

Update

Less of an art update, more of an artist update.

However there is artwork in the works! Pencils are coming along great for the next issue of Adventures in Crapville & SwanBurger. I've got some fun sketches and prints planned for HERO BOT CON which is quickly approaching.

Mark your calendars: SEPTEMBER 21st, 2013!

Carry on my...

Wayward KICKSTARTER!

I am not ashamed.
Anyways...some super talented friends of mine are running a kickstarter for their new comic - you should go check it out:

There are some very cool rewards for backing even small amounts, and of course, the added bonus of supporting artists & writers who are passionate about getting their own work out there.

And if that hasn't sold you already, you may remember the artist on the wayward project, Joey Schichtel, as a contributor to Adventures in Crapville issue #2!

Joey's awesome
ages 10 & 11
From Adventures
in Crapville.
(Seriously,
showing me up
in my own book.)

There are also updates/sketches/extras being posted on their sites:

Please go check them out and hopefully help out this cool project!

Annnnd finally, here are some quick sketches I've done while reading Divine Misfortune by A. Lee Martinez, (funny, entertaining book so far - excited to see where the crazy premise is going to take me), to show I've not been a complete waste of space this summer.
