Quick Pause

There are still more Comic Con photos to be posted but I wanted to take a brief pause to upload the image I did to boost my co-worker's spirits when she had to have some tests run.
Thankfully everything turned out alright in the end.

Comic Con part 2

And now on to the panels! I didn't get to attend as many as I would have liked because it was just so busy and packed BUT two of the ones I did attend were about women in the comic industry. They gave great tips about being a female involved in comics, how to break into the industry, how to increase your web presence etc. Needless to say I loved both of them and have tried to start implementing some of what I learned (like updating my blog).
You can read a write-up of the panel here: http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=35096
Moderated by Marvel Editor Jeanine Schaefer, the panel kicked off as soon as the panelists filed onstage: artist Colleen Coover ("Gingerbread Girl"), writer Kelly Sue DeConnick ("Osborn"), Editor Lauren Sankovitch ("Fantastic Four"), Editor Sana Amanat ("Ultimate Spider-Man"), artist Sara Pichelli ("Ultimate Spider-Man") artist Emma Rios ("Cloak And Dagger") and writer Marjorie Liu ("X-23").

Photos from Comic Con - Finally!

So to start off the very delayed New York City Comic Con photo-dump I'm going to post all of the cos-play photos I took. Now, mind you there were SO MANY amazing ones I didn't get photos of, so this is a small cross section.
And apologies, these were all taken with my phone which doesn't have the best camera, but I was just happy to have anything.
If anyone can tell me who or what this thing is or from I would appreciate it. I just thought it was a way cool costume. Also, shame on me for taking the photo with the light so strong in the background - I am certainly NOT a great photographer.
Cool station where you could pay to sit in the DeLorean and have your photos taken with an impressive looking "Marty" and a super creepy, not so impressive "Doc".

Excellent Dr. Horrible costume from "Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog".

Green Lantern chick - I have no clue if she's a specific character or just "Green Lantern Corp", but awesome costume either way.

Power Girl and Elastic Man - really sharp costumes.

Wolverine and Zatanna

Wolverine and Zatanna I see you!

And another well done Zatanna costume.

MORE TO COME!

Comic Cons

Phew - it's been a crazy month! Preparing and attending two Comic Cons was awesome, I couldn't be happier with the end result. I intend to post a more in depth con report at some point with photos and art... but not this time. I'm still recovering and tackling all the things that backed up while I was preparing for Hero Bot Con & NYCC.

BUT I will leave you with art I created for NYCC specifically. The character on the left is "Leah" from my comic "Adventures in Crapville", the character on the right is from the webcomic "Evil Inc." which if you aren't reading you should start RIGHT NOW. Not only is Brad Guigar a very talented artist, but his writing is fun and he includes some excellent puns (which I love!). I've met Brad at previous cons and he is always super friendly and happy to chat with you - which was awesome this past weekend when he actually remembered me!

I had him sign the print and give feedback on my comic, which was so cool (SO COOL) ((imagine my excitement being about 50x as much as you are getting from this post)).

That's all the gushing for now - more to come soon!
